There are plenty of standard staple ways to exercise we all know but what if they are too dull for you? Well, fear not for there are some pretty crazy ways of getting fit which means you don’t have to worry about the tedious regular fitness regimes that people usually tell you about. So if you are bored of the current things you are doing to get fit you should take a look at these.
Breakdancing
This is something people, but breakdancing is excellent, it allows for the build-up of core strength, and on top of that, it isn’t a thing you see many people know how to do. It’s one of those things that was almost a passing fad with a small community that is still upholding it today, but there are lessons still around. Just think you can learn a new party trick and get fit at the same time.
Parkour/ Freerunning
Parkour and Freerunning are almost the same ideas but a little separate. Parkour is all about the most efficient way to get from point A to B. However, Freerunning is the same, but instead of efficiency, it’s all about style. Parkour was developed in the military, but Freerunning was an urban culture take on it. If you always wanted to be like those people in the movies who can move quickly through an urban environment, this is an excellent tool for fitness.
Star Wars
There is a class that has shown up recently in a small area of America where you can train in a way that mimics the use of a lightsaber. It’s all about building mass through the gravity of using the blade, and you can even spar one another in an all-out duel. It’s almost a take on traditional sword-play. However, the Saber is lightweight and plastic making it far more up paced and allowing people of any strength to take part.
Climbing
Do you ever think to yourself that there must be a way for you and your partner in crime to get fit together? Well, there is, rock climbing requires someone else at the bottom to act as ballast so you can take turns at climbing up the faces of walls. Now you don’t need to go climbing real cliff faces because plenty of centres let you climb indoors safely so maybe next time instead of hitting up the gym you can hit up the local rock climbing place instead.
Obstacle Courses
Obstacle courses have been becoming more and more common these passing years. They are both fun and also a good test of skill for people willing to participate in them. It’s incredible to think that something so fun could really help you get fit but in all honesty, it really can. Some of these courses test all skills, from agility to strength along with endurance and many others along the way. These courses aren’t as hard as the ones you see on TV however they are an excellent way to test your own abilities and see how far you had come from when you first started training to get fit.
